The Corvette C2 „Sting Ray”
With the second generation of the Corvette model series produced since 1953, the car manufacturer Chevrolet introduced the name "Sting Ray". Legend has it, the design was inspired by a mako shark that Bill Mitchell, one of Chevrolet's lead designers, is said to have caught while deep sea fishing.
The first units of the C2 rolled off the assembly line in 1963, and two years later the vehicle was also available with an optional 6.5 L V8 engine for the first time: the so-called Big Block.

A striking Look
Inspired by the angular shape and the sharp aesthetics of the cult classic car, our watch band also received a striking design. The stepped shape and flat tapering tip of the strap is underlined by the striking orange contrast stitching.
A Stingray for your Wrist
„[...] if you ever hankered to buy a sports car, you're about to become the owner of a new Corvette Sting Ray. Sensible talk about the family budget, the good years left in your present car, any kind of rational thought, forget it!“. That's how bluntly Chevrolet's copywriters originally said it in an ad for the new "Sting Ray" - with great success!
Almost 120,000 units of the C2 were sold during the production years from 1963 to 1967 until it was succeeded in 1968 by the third generation Corvette.
Among all Corvette generations, the "Sting Ray" enjoys special cult status because of its appearance. You will soon be able to call part of this myth your own with the special edition "Big Block".
